Consortium Professional Recruitment is delighted to support a forward-thinking business in their search for a Senior Design Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of design projects, from developing new products to production support, while collaborating across technical and manufacturing teams.
  
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving innovation, ensuring accuracy in production documentation, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. This role is perfect for someone with a strong technical background who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  
  
Role Purpose & Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new product designs using 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).
  • Modify existing designs to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct FEA, stress calculations, and design verification.
  • Support production teams with design needs, including jig design and technical input.
  • Generate accurate production drawings, bills of materials, and design reports.
  • Liaise with customers regarding design approvals and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Design & Technical Manager on project actions.
  
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering.
  • Strong experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Proven track record in a similar design engineering role.
  • Knowledge of FEA and stress calculation methodologies.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
