Two of Consortium Recruitment’s directors have been recognised at this year's HEY PIB Awards. David Lipton, Managing Director, was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year, and Director Dawn Parker was up for The Grit Award, with both of them bringing home the trophy.
David founded Consortium Recruitment during the lockdown, offering an alternative approach to recruitment that would help save businesses operational time and cost and see candidates find their dream jobs and build their careers.
Just over two years later, David hired his fourth team member with more roles on the horizon. And in the last 12 months, Consortium Recruitment has managed over 185 projects across 65. Unique clients.
David said, “It was an honour to have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards. This recognition is a testament to the entire team's incredible dedication and hard work. Together we have strived to redefine outsourced recruitment and create a meaningful impact with our clients and candidates. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the team’.
“We all share a commitment to provide our clients with a service that goes beyond the typical recruitment process, getting to know their aspirations in depth and providing a bespoke approach. This has led to us working with some of the biggest companies in the region whilst also playing a key role within the local SME Community.”
“When you take the leap to start a business, it can be daunting, but having that hard work recognised means a lot. That being said, one of the best moments of the evening was sharing the spotlight with Dawn, who has overcome so much this last year and is an incredible and integral part of the team.
Dawn was nominated by her team for the Grit Award after overcoming many hurdles in the last 18 months, from health scares, personally and with her family members, to car engine failures. But despite having her world rocked several times, she has contributed to a large percentage of the business's growth.
During this time, Dawn has also launched a collaborative HR Professional network and has partnered with local organisations like Andy’s Man Club to support local businesses with topics such as mental health in the workplace.
Dawn said, “It was such an honour to be there on the evening, with so much talent in the room. I never in a million years expected to be nominated, never mind win, but it really means so much. The best part of the evening was having my mum there to celebrate with.”
